The department intends to conduct a search for a permanent occupant of this position during the 2013-14 year. The teaching load is five courses a year, and includes introductory courses in medical anthropology or global health and sociocultural anthropology, as well as other courses of the instructor's choosing. The position begins in August 2012. Salary is competitive and includes some support for research. Ours is a congenial four-field department with a robust undergraduate program. Many of our students intend to work in medicine, so this position provides an opportunity to enhance the education of future practitioners. Candidates must have the PhD in hand by the time the position begins; independent teaching experience is necessary.
